Lightracer is my synthwave project. The project emerged from my desire to explore new musical territory outside of my spacesynth work. Lightracer was born as a creative outlet to experiment with fresh ideas, blending outrun-style synthwave with powerful electric guitar riffs to create high-energy, cinematic soundscapes. The project allowed me to push the boundaries of my music and break free from the confines of his previous work.
Originally, Leap in the Dark (2017) was conceived as a new Everdune album. However, as the music drifted further from the spacesynth genre, I made the decision to launch the Lightracer project instead. This marked the beginning of a new musical journey, one that would explore faster rhythms, rock influences, and the neon-lit atmosphere of synthwave. Leap in the Dark introduced the project’s signature sound, a fusion of driving synths and electric guitars that set the tone for what was to come.
In 2018, Viewpoint followed, further cementing Lightracer’s distinct style. This was followed by At the Border of Twilight (2019), a darker, more atmospheric record, and Across the Dark Sky (2020), which originally began as an Everdune album but eventually took shape as part of the Lightracer project.
In 2023, Lightracer’s evolution continued with the release of Lightyears Ahead, a forward-thinking album that builds on the project's outrun foundation while expanding its sonic horizons.
